Honourable Chief Justice Atthaniti Disatha-Amnarj
The Honourable Chief Justice Atthaniti Disatha-Amnarj was President of the ALA from 25 Nov 2006 to 17 October 2009. He was elected President of the ALA at the 9th ALA General Assembly held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Honourable Chief Justice Atthaniti Disatha-Amnarj received his legal education at the prestigious Thammasat University and was called to the Thai Bar before proceeding to Harvard Law School, where he graduated with a Masters of Law degree. He was President of the Supreme Court of Thailand from 2002 to 2004. Prior to his election as President of the ALA, the Honourable Atthaniti Disatha-Amnarj was the Chairman of the ALA national committee of Thailand, a position he had held since 1989. He was appointed a Privy Councillor of Thailand by HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 16 August 2007.
